2010 A year of stunning Yorkshire Weddings

So what a year that was, we Leafy girls thought we would start the new year and new improved blog with a look back to the best bits of last year….

A fabulous year of beautiful brides ( and grooms), breathtaking venues and of course gorgeous flowers. We have been lucky enough to meet some wonderful people in the industry who I am sure we will mention later.

2010 saw the vintage theme going from strength to strength and we created stunning arrangements using teacups, cake stands, jam jars and lots of bunting! We were lucky enough to work with The vintage teachest on owner Eva’s wedding, the look was very english garden party and we loved it.

We have had some lovely marquee weddings too, working alongside some of the best in the industry including the fantastic Emma from Marygold Weddings.

We were lucky enough to sneak a trip down to Chelsea Flower Show and to Covent Garden Flower market for some inspiration and some Pimms!

We saw some amazing floristry but the best experience was the David Austin roses display, talk about heaven scent!

We bought some amazing props for weddings including these stunning silver silver urns which we used for a Wedding Magazine party at Bettys in Harrogate, here is a pic of one of the arrangements from the day.

We have been lucky enough to work with some fantastic venues again and are proud to be the recommended suppliers for Harewood House, Harewood,  Denton Hall, Ilkley, Chevin Country Park, Otley and The Box Tree Ilkley as well as the Craiglands Hotel, Ilkley.

We had lots of fun with our flower schools in spring, summer and our festive one in December, despite minus 15 we battled on through with the help of mince pies and hot chocolate.

So over 90 weddings, beautiful brides and dashing grooms, early morning starts, late night finishes, snow covered hills, fueled by cupcakes and tea, we wouldn’t change our job for the world!

Coming up in our next post…. Wedding fayres and Open days over the next few months.
