Sunflowers and Smiles, a Real Yorkshire Wedding.

So last summer our best man Andy got married to his lovely bride Bryony.

They have a love of snow adventures, camping and their beautiful rabbit Dusty.

The wanted a relaxed afternoon full of cake and smiles and thats exactly what they got. It was just lovely, our hearts were full of love and our bellies of cake.

The ceremony was at The Red Lion Burnsall followed by afternoon tea at Cracoe Village Hall.

We used sunflowers, camomile, freesia and lissanthus, the bouquet was featured on the fab blog Pocketful Of Dreams here.

Denton Hall Weddings

One of our most fabulous places to dress is the grand wonder that is Denton Hall, Ilkley. As you drive up through the tiny village of Denton you feel like you are in the heart of a very special place, you drive past the small and perfectly formed church, the grand metal gates open to the sweeping drive to the Hall. Pheasants, sheep and huge trees greet you. The hall was used in the filming of the waterbabies, a film from my childhood. It has a grand entrance with columns inside and out, wooden pannelled rooms, ornate fireplaces, an ornate staircase with a crazy beautiful sparkly chandelier that still takes my breath away every time I see it. The michelin strarred Box Tree events provide the catering and venue dressing by the delightful Lindsay at Ambience Leeds and you have the perfect team.

So like the magpies that we are we collect and love shiny things! Here is a look at a few of the containers and props we have to hire…they are coming in weekly at the moment so we shall keep updating for you.

If you are a DIY kinda gal or guy we can help provide the containers for your wedding or event or if you are a florist or event planner who doesn’t want to carry so much stock the leafy girls can help.

We have a range of different sizes, shapes and prices.

A Waterfall of Flowers, Beautiful Boudoir with Cat Hepple Photography

We just had to share with you this beautiful exciting shoot concept we were lucky enough to provide the flowers for with the fantastic Cat Hepple. Getting married is such a special time, brides and grooms spend time, money and lots of effort so they can look their best on the biggest day of their lives. How lovely is this style of shoot to capture the happiness and beauty of a bride to be..a great idea for a gift for your groom or just to record the moment.

When Cat was describing the shoot and creating mood boards we fell in love with the idea of draping the body with flowers and so this idea of a waterfall of flowers evolved. We also created an oversized floral corsage to compliment the drreamy silk kimono and some wired stephanotis for the models hair. We are so pleased with the results, the rest of the images can be seen here on Cats’ beautiful blog.

Love Birds

Lovely Lucy got married to Richard this October in Otley with the reception at Chevin Country Park, here are a few of their beautiful images by Jim Poiner . There was a birds theme running through the wedding with Rich sporting pheasants on his tie and white metal birds in hearts alternating with hydrangeas on the pew ends in the church. The table arrangements were clear vintage cake stands with a gorgeous mix to match the bridal theme of roses, hydrangeas and veronica. The bouquet is one of my favourites this year with lots of texture and beautiful tones.

Lucy looks so radiant and in love and rich looks like the cat that got the cream, and so he should!

Inspiration and Admiration

As a florist we take inspiration from all over…..one of the pioneers in how we look at flowers and how we create arrangements has passed away the fantastic Jane Packer.

She was one of the first florists to use flowers in a grouped way,new ways with colour and texture..she broke boundaries using flowers as fashionable items incorporating them in interior design.

A worldwide inspiration to millions with books, shops and a hugely successful flower school…

The Showcase Part Two!

It was such a team effort so here are the thank yous, the gorgeous leafy girs of course, the fantastic Lindsay from Ambience venue styling Leeds who worked so hard to plan dressing the venue, the chair covers and sashes were beautiful, the team at Harewood and the brilliant Faye Hatten photography captured it all.
Huge thanks to Claire at Just Darling Cakes and Emily Carlill who helped proivde stunning creations for the goody bags. We were also joined by Booth Revolution..see the evidence for yourself!
We were made up by the talented and just plain lovely marianna from Smink make up artistry and entertained by Strelitzia Music. The evening was blogged about by Brides up north you can read about it here.

5th Birthday Wedding Showcase at Harewood House Part One… the Flowers
