Decadent tablescapes, masses of bright flowers and neons in the snow for our Colour Riot wedding shoot with Unveiled
We’ve been so so thrilled with the wonderful creative briefs we’ve received for styled shoots this year! Following the breathtaking beauty of the ethereal bohemian wedding look we created for Unveiled at Saltmarshe Hall in Hull, we were asked to do another shoot for the magazine with an entirely different theme: colour riot.
To meet the brief, which asked for an abundance of colour, texture and opulence, we created three large urn arrangements, three tablescapes, two floral columns, a large floral wall installation (with neon) and two bouquets. This was a shoot of plenty.
The stables and courtyard of Harewood House were the perfect backdrop for our bold and bright arrangements. The buildings provided a simple background of white, stone and black that was both grand and neutral. The undisturbed snowfall from the previous night completed the ‘blank canvas’ we needed and helped us to create the perfect alternative to a traditional winter wedding.
For the urns, which stood between the buildings’ Roman columns, we created three similar arrangements bursting with different rose varieties, including bright pink All For Love and Misty Bubbles roses, peachy orange Vuvuzela roses and big bubblegum pink Lady Bombastic roses. To add height and even more colour to arrangement we used tall stems of delphinium in lilac, light pink, mauve and cerise. For the foliage we used pistachio, eucalyptus and olive alongside branches of cherry blossom, plum tulips, bright green viburnum opulus and pink lilac to add interest and texture.
We carried these flowers as our main ingredients list throughout the rest of our big arrangements and installations with additions and removals were colour or structure needed something different. For the beautiful and towering columns we used masses of willow branches, pussywillow stems and asparagus fern, deep blue delphinium and pink veronica to add unusual shapes and even more bursts of bright colour to the look. Similarly, for the bold and alternative wall installation that framed the pink heart neon we added a pretty mix of pink parrot tulips, pink ranunculus and trailing ivy to the compliment the arrangement’s decadent frame of pink roses.
We are absolutely in love with this shoot and how it turned out, and we hope you enjoy it too! If you’re planning a wedding bursting at its seams with colour, please get in touch for an initial consultation or visit our Wedding page for more inspiration. We’d be delighted to help create your dream day.
