We chat to Sarah, founder of Leafy Couture all about the world of Franchising
Hi, Im Sarah the founder of Leafy Couture and the owner of Leafy Couture North & West Yorkshire.
We have been in business now for 18 years and am so so proud of everything we have achieved. In 2023 when thinking ahed to the business’s future as we approached our 18th year, I thought to myself what do we want from Leafy Couture?
The conversation about franchising came from a chance meeting with a student at one of our flower schools and it seemed like the natural next step for Leafy Couture.
We were getting offers of work all over the UK and simply not able to supply the demand. We also teach lots of people floristry career courses and we were developing relationships with florists that we wanted to grow and strengthen. We have the best job in the world why would we not want to encourage people to join us?! We have a strong established brand know for quality, professionalism and incredibly beautiful flowers, we want to champion that all over the UK.
We currently have four franchisees, they cover East Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, York and Craven & East Lancashire. They offer flower schools, weddings, sympathy flowers, gift bouquets and brand experiences such as workshops.
There are so many happening all the time as the franchisees grow their businesses, from the first wedding fayre being attended to the first wedding booking.
Seeing our franchisees really put themselves out there and go for it is brilliant.
We have the experience to back up all the new business adventures they are having so we can support them. Seeing our franchisees make new connections with hotel chains, teaching workshops, new brand partnerships and simply delivering beautiful flowers we are over the moon for them.

It’s being in business for yourself, but not by yourself.
We are the biggest champions of floristry working on a national and international level. We offer a huge support package for our florists from in house training , to phone support, to shadowing our team and training materials.
Leafy Couture as a brand has so many different offerings for future earnings and experiences covering a wide range of floristry offerings. We are constantly training and learning so that we keep the brand current and relevant, with a super positive, knowledgeable team. We have your back through the wonderful world of business ownership.
The other incredible franchisees are a huge reason to join, they are just so awesome. We are so over the moon with the progress made so far and the weddings, events and workshops being booked.
Our next steps as we flower on would be to branch out to areas such as Manchester, Northumberland, Newcastle as our next areas as they border on our areas and we have worked in them so work is ready and waiting! These areas are full of so many gorgeous venues and have lovely places for workshops and where desirable clients live.
Over the next 12 months I am so excited about watching the franchisees develop and grow their business's with us giving them full support. Seeing the brand strengthen more over the UK with our work with other businesses creating more opportunities for us all. We want to grow the offering of courses we have, loads more teaching and travelling spreading our floral love. We want to create a larger network of franchisees who can support each other.
