How we created stunning dusky pink, mauve and plum bridal bouquets and flowers for this romantic Yorkshire wedding at Wharfedale Grange
We love creating stunning wedding flowers for Wharfedale Grange weddings. Not least because our shed is based on the same grounds but because we know the venue like the back of our hands and can advise our couples on the perfect arrangements and where to place them around the buildings to really create their dream day. One of the other reasons we love it so much is because lovely Yorkshire brides, like beautiful Rebecca here, can come down to the shed in the morning, in between hair and makeup, giddy with champagne and excitement, to see us putting the finishing touches to their beautiful wedding flowers.
We first met Rebecca and Richard after they spotted one of creative flat lays on Instagram. The couple loved our style and wanted us to create elegant, romantic flowers for their wedding, with touches of country whimsy. For Rebecca we created a front facing, hand tied bouquet with a rounded shape that had free-r foliage underneath and to the sides to give a tousled, romantic finish. We used huge cafe au lait dahlias and chocolate cosmos set against dusky pink and mauve roses to create an elegant depth to the bridal bouquet.
For the five bridesmaids we created smaller bouquets, also hand tied. We made these up with more pinks, using roses, spray roses and bright pink delphiniums, to compliment their dusky pink dresses and give them a group look that we knew would look stunning in the pictures, especially when next to Rebecca’s overflowing, texture bouquet. The men wore buttonholes of wonderfully scented cream roses, pistachio berries and leaves, complete with pink ribbon.
We dressed the venue’s entrance way and staircase with a huge tall urn of pink and purple delphiniums, the star cafe au lait dahlias and set them against dark beech leaves and trailing ivy and clematis. We placed round posies of light pink dahlias and bright green foliage in mercury glass vases along each of the long banquet tables, with small floral elements in each of the bridal bouquet to carry Rebecca and Richard’s theme throughout. We also provided pink and cream rose petal confetti for the couple’s guests to help celebrate their matrimony, outside in the Grange’s courtyard where everyone enjoyed champagne and, eventually, a bouquet toss!
We thoroughly enjoyed working with Rebecca and Richard to help create their perfect day. Rebecca was a real flower lover and that always makes choosing blooms an even bigger joy!
