Bright pink peonies, tropical foliage and neon signs for this Papakata sperry tent wedding in Yorkshire
We really loved worked on Katie and Matt’s wedding. It was bright, sparkly, elegant fun. The team and I are also obsessed with the trend for tropical foliage weddings at the moment (a trend that’s making it’s way over from the US) so creating the couple’s dream installation pieces to pop against the bright white of their Papakata sperry tent and match their specially commissioned neon sign was a dream come true!
Katie and Matt are the duo behind fun stationery studio Jolly Awesome so we instantly fell in love with their vibrant, stylish vibe. The couple decided on a fun colour scheme of bright pinks and corals to stand out against the elegant sperry trent and Katie’s beautifully stunning sparkly two piece. For the bride we created a statement bridal bouquet full of masses of bright pink Sarah Bernhardt peonies and Miss Piggy Roses in a strong round shape. We added antirrhinum, astilbe, snapdragon and lisianthus in pinks, whites and bright greens to create lots of interest.
We created three smaller bouquets in lighter shades of pink with additional pistache foliage to compliment the bridesmaids’ beautiful coral dresses. For the tropical themed buttonholes, we used two pink roses, framed by leaves of pistache, with an additional coral rose for the groom.
Inside the tent, we worked with a variety of deep green tropical palms as a dark, textured base for the colourful peonies and roses. We added fullness to the neon wedding sign’s tropical frame and the two hanging floral hoops by adding asparagus leaf, red gloriosa lily and aramanthus.
We styled the beautiful tables with bunches of gloriosa lily, peonies and orange dahlias in clean, clear vases with additional mini succulents in small round glasses for a bright, modern vibe. Big palms with towering gladioli and peonies in pink reds dressed the tropical themed seating plan and we created a stunning trail of cake flowers, accessorised with mini blue and ivory meringues, to match the bride’s bouquet.
Our hand dried confetti, in light and dark pink, was also used to create the beautiful confetti shot seen below.
